Which Healthcare Providers Cover Chiropractic Care?

Because chiropractic treatment is a specialist treatment, you will need to cover the costs of consultations and treatment sessions. There are two ways to do this – either by claiming the cost of treatment through your private health insurance policy or by self-paying. Chiropractic care is well recognised by many private healthcare providers, so you often don’t have to pay a penny upfront.

Healthcare Providers and Chiropractors

If you are a member of a healthcare provider such as BUPA, or have health insurance as a work benefit, you will most likely be eligible for treatment. It is important to check your individual policy, however these are some of the most popular healthcare providers we have worked with to ensure the cost of the client’s treatment is covered.

AXA PPP\"AXA

If you are referred to a chiropractor by your GP or a specialist, then a personal health plan from AXA PPP should cover the cost of your treatment. The therapies covered by this provider include physiotherapy, acupuncture and osteopathy. The standard insurance will cover you for up to 10 sessions a year which should be enough to alleviate back pain or correct posture. Insurers are usually flexible so if it turns out you do require further sessions, these can be agreed.

BUPA

As BUPA recognised chiropractors in the Canary Wharf area, we treat lots of BUPA members who have work-related neck and back issues. There are a variety of levels of health cover provided by BUPA, so you’ll need to make sure your particular policy includes alternative therapies such as chiropractic and osteopathy. Chiropractic care is usually part of the added extras of a health plan.\"bupa

Simply Health

Many healthcare providers recognise that taking care of your body and accessing preventative treatment can save claims for larger problems in the future. With a cash plan from Simply Health, you can claim money back for hospital stays, dental treatment, optical costs and complementary therapies including chiropractic treatment. You don’t even need a GP referral to claim back the cost, however you will need to pay for the treatment upfront and then send the receipt off to claim a refund.

Aviva Healthcare

If you have an Aviva private health insurance policy, you can enhance your cover to include specialist therapies. Always check that you can claim the cost of your chiropractic treatment back before going ahead with the programme, and check if there is a limit to the amount of sessions you can take.

If you have any questions about the cost of chiropractic care, contact your private healthcare provider. They may ask for more information about the clinic you’ll be visiting, so don’t hesitate to get in touch with us.
