Migraine prevention

Migraines, affecting millions in the UK, can significantly impact quality of life. Symptoms vary widely, making diagnosis challenging. While many people experience tension headaches, migraines are much more intense and debilitating. Understanding the differences can help manage and prevent them.

How can we help

As chiropractors, we often see patients with migraine symptoms. Prolonged tension in the back, shoulders, neck, and jaw can contribute to this sort of pain. We cannot offer a cure for migraines, but we work with patients to help manage symptoms and aim to reduce the frequency and severity of what they experience.

Our treatment can help you with migraine prevention. Working on the spine and muscles, perhaps using acupuncture, and providing advice can all make a significant difference.

Some of this advice will relate to the role regular exercise can play, and what sort of exercise you should avoid.

Understanding the benefits of consistent good quality sleep and what you can do to improve this can be discussed.

And we’ll also talk to you about what effect your work might be having on your migraines and what changes you should make to help manage them better.

All in all, we will try to help you manage your migraines in the best way we know, but we will also make suggestions about what else you can do to help yourself.

Finding the right treatment approach is key to managing migraines, and we look forward to helping you with this.
